Something quick, simple, different and oh my god tasty which I needed as feeling a little under the weather. I needed something easy but yet rewarding and satisfying. It’s even better when you have all the ingredients at home (other than the beef mince).
Yes, the dish is around the flavours being added, but taking the beef in the pan to a crispy caramelised beef mince makes the dish and takes it to another level. .
I’d seen this dish on the ‘t’internet’ as it was being promoted as a ‘healthy eating’ dish and helped ‘weight loss’.
Ingredients –
One tray of shop bought minced beef
1 tbsp of garlic paste (I also diced a few cloves of garlic for some additional texture)
1 tbsp of ginger paste
1 1/2 tbsp of Gochujang paste.
1 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
1 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 1/2 tbsp of runny hunny
1/4 of a cup of water
To serve – a fried egg, diced spring onions, sesame seeds and jasmine rice.
Method –
Heat the minced beef in a frying pan. Place the meat in and allow it to sit in a hot pan for about 30 seconds.

As the beef sizzles, start to break it down and push it around the pan.

The beef needs to cook on a high heat for between 6-8 minutes. You’re looking for the meat to brown, caramelise and become nice and crispy.

Add in the garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds. Again, push it around the pan to flavour the meat.

Then you start to layer the dish with flavours. Everything all in………

Then the water……

Give the pan a good mix.

Reduce the mixture for a couple for minutes and it will become nice and sticky.

As this is reducing in another pan fry an egg in the normal way you would.

Serve with the jasmine rice, layered with the sticky beef mince then the egg on top with sesame seeds and spring onions.

Thank you for reading my ramblings ❤️❤️
