This my social media friends was the perfect dish to put on to cook on a lazy Saturday afternoon ready for England’s game v’s Ukraine.

Pork marinade – 2 bay leaves, 8 black peppercorns, 2 tbsp of garlic and ginger paste, 4 tbsp of honey, 3 tbsp of dark soy, 2 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of turmeric, 10 glazed cherries cut up, 2 star anise and belly pork.
Allowing the pork to marinade then slow cooking in enough water to cover it for 2 hours then finishing in the pan to be served in sourdough bread. A traditional South African dish.

Next step, heat 2 tbsp of oil, add about a dozen curry leaves with 3 dried chillies to flavour the oil. Once the kitchen starts taking on the smell add 2 diced red onions and 3 green chillies and fry off for about 5 minutes.

Once the onion mix has cooked out add back in your slow cooked pork and fry off for another 5 minutes with a little bit of the cooking water.

You then hollow out your sourdough which I purchased from Morrison’s. Oh and the red wine too!!!

A very tasty meal. Just perfect.
