I returned home from work on Wednesday 12th May to find a large parcel in the kitchen addressed to me. Within this parcel was a selection of pies which you automatically knew took pie making to another level.
In life we have people that leave an impact on you. Within my work place I have such a person. I can sit and listen to him for hours. His knowledge is second to none. Shortly, our paths will part. I can only dream of being at his level. It’s this person that’s arranged these glorious pies for me. His daughter and son-in-law run a pie shop called – Lord of the Pies in Macclesfield. His son-in-law is the chef. I have to say the pastry was by a country mile the best pastry I’ve ever eaten.
I’ve always believed food is about creating memories. The smell of this pastry takes me back to childhood holiday with my family in Cornwall. When I didn’t have a care in the world. A happy place. The taste though was heavenly.
Below is a pie has a filling of pork and Bury black pudding. Pie making to a different level.

Hopefully the link below will take you to their website.
